Durham lost to Rochester 5-2 and while the pitching wasn’t anything to write home about, the hitting was even worse. Durham managed just two runs on six hits and Chris Nowack led the way. He went two for four and he scored one of those two runs.
James Houser had a decent enough start and he gave up two runs in five innings before the pen lost it. Chad Orvella continued his struggles and he gave up three runs in three innings an he fell to 0-1.

The Bulls swept the Hens in a dramatic, ninth inning win to move on to the Governor’s Cup finals. With the scored tied 2-2, the Bulls tagged Hens reliever Aquilino Lopez for three runs to win it. Jon Weber had the game winner with a solo shot and then Evan Longoria added two runs with a two run shot
Jae Seo threw a nice start and he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings. Chad Orvella picked up the win with a shutout eighth inning.
The Bulls came from behind to send on two different occasions to keep this game going but they finally lost it in the sixteenth 7-4. Tim Corcoran took the loss when he gave up the three runs in the sixteenth and he dropped to 1-1. Chad Orvella struck out four in three shutout innings and Jeff Niemann struck out eight and he gave up three runs in his start.
Joel Guzman was the hitting star. He went two for five with a homerun and three RBIs.
Durham scored two runs in the top of the ninth to win a 5-4 game over the Clippers. One of those runs came on a solo homerun by Raul Casanova, who went two for four with two runs. Jorge Velandia went two for three with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Chad Orvella picked up the win with two innings of relief. He gave up a run and he struck out three.
