Michael Wlodarczyk fell to 4-3 on the season with a rough start in the Vero Beach’s 9-6 loss to Sarasota. He gave up six runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts in just two innings.
Christopher Cunningham was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.
Despite scoring four runs in the final three frames, this game looked it could go on forever. The Rays scored a run in the top of the ninth to take a one run lead only to have St. Lucie tie it up in the bottom half of the inning. Ditto in the tenth when each team scored a run. Finally in the eleventh, the Rays put two up on the board and waked away with a 6-4 win.
Christopher Cunningham was the hitting star in the win. He went three for five with a double and three RBIs.
Vero Beach went down 9-2 early but they scored six late runs ot make a game out of it. Unforutunately, they fell just short and lost it 9-8. Christopher Cunningham had a huge game in the loss. He went three for four with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs.
Paul Moviel was hit hard and he took the loss. He gave up nine runs on twelve hits and one walk with one strikeout in 4 1/3 innings.
Vero Beach lost to Palm Beach 8-4 and it was Brian Lockwood who took the loss. He gave up four runs on five hits, two of which were homers, without getting a single batter out in his season debut.
Sergio Pedroza doubled and drove in two runs in the loss. Christopher Cunningham went two for four with a double and he scored a run.
