The Biscuits locked up their spot in the Southern League championship with a 12-5 blowout win over Mississippi to take the series 3-1. Reid Brignac went three for three with two walks, three RBIs and two runs. Erold Andrus went three for five with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs while Josh Asanovich went two for three with two walks and three runs.
Mike Prochaska picked up the win with a decent enough start. He gave up three runs on nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. The Biscuits next opponent isn’t certain yet as Tennessee and Huntsville’s series went to five games and the deciding game will be played tomorrow.
The Biscuits lost game of their series as they were blown out by the Braves. Three different pitchers gave up runs and it was Brian Henderson who took the loss. He gave up two runs without getting a hitter out.
Sergio Pedroza provided most of the offense with a two run homer. Erold Andrus went two for three with a double and a run.
Jacob McGee dropped to 4-2 on the season with a rought start in Vero Beach’s 7-2 loss to Sarasota. He gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Erold Andrus was the hitting star (if you want to call him that). He went one for three with a double, a walk and a run.
Erold Andrus had a big day at the plate in Vero Beach’s 5-3 win over Sarasota. He went three for five with a homerun and two runs scored. Neil Walton also had a nice game and he went two for four with an RBI.
Greg Dupas was the pitching star. He gave up just two hits with three strikeouts in three shutout innings of relief.
Vero Beach lost to Lakeland 4-3 and they picked up just six hits. Erold Andrus and Patrick Cottrel each had a single, a double, a run and an RBI.
Michael Wlodarczyk had a decent start but he didn’t get the run support to pick up the win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Sergio Pedroza had a career game in Vero Beach’s 15-4 win over Lakeland. He went four for five with three homeruns, six RBIs and four runs. Erold Andrus also hada nice day at the plate. He went three for five with four runs.
Wade Davis improved to 3-0 with the win. He gave up two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Rhyne Hughes had a huge game in Vero Beach’s 12-7 win over Daytona. He homered twice and drove in five runs and he wasn’t the only Ray to go yard twice. Erold Andrus also hit two homeruns while James Hall hit one over the fence once.
Jonathan Beltre picked up the win and he gave up two runs in two innings of relief. Paul Moviel was hit hard and he gave up five runs in his five innings of work.
Vero Beach scored a run in the ninth to break a 6-6 tie to win it 7-6. Matthew Devine hit a three run homer in the win and Erold Andrus finished with two hits and two RBIs.
Matthew Walker had a rough start and he didn’t even finish the fourth inning. Greg Dupas both blew the save and picked up the win and he gave up two runs in one inning.
His name’s a mouthful but he got the job done in Vero Beach’s 1-0 win over Jupiter. Michael Wlodarczyk gave up just two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six innings and he improved to 2-0 on the season.
Erold Andrus drove in the only run of the game. He finished the game two for four with a double.
Jacob McGee was pretty good on the mound today. He gave up just two hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 shutout innings. Unfortunately, Kevin Lynn was hammered for nine runs in relief and he blew McGee’s great start as Vero Beach lost 5-4. McGee now has 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings and he’s given up just one earned run.
Erold Andrus was the only Devil Ray with two hits. He went two for four with a run.
