The Biscuits failed to win game four and lock up the Southern League championship so today we’ll have a winner take all game five. The Biscuits had their share of hits with eight but they could push just one of those across the plate. Fernando Perez singled, drew two walks and he scored that lone run.
Mike Prochaska took the loss although he was hardly horrible. He gave up three runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven solid frames.
The Biscuits won a huge game three as they took a two games to one lead in their best of five game series with Huntsville. It was Christopher Mason who got it done on the mound with six shutout innings. He gave up eight hits and three walks with six strikeouts in the win. Equally as impressive was Evan Meek, who struck out six in three innings of relief.
Chris Nowak went two for four with a solo homer. Fernando Perez went one for five but he drove in two runs.
Christopher Mason improved to an impressive 8-1 record with another nice start for the Biscuits in their 4-2 in over Carolina. He gave up one run on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Reid Brignac hit a two run homer in the win. Gabriel Martinez went two for four with a two run homer and Fernando Perez went three for four with a run.
The Biscuits could only put two runs on the board in their 3-2 loss to the Suns. Fernando Perez was the hitting star and he went two for four with a double and he drove in one of the runs.
Derek Feldkamp took the loss and he dropped to 0-3 on the season. He gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
The Biscuits got plenty of offense in their 13-6 win over Huntsville. Gabriel Martinez led the way with a big day at the plate. He went three for four with a homerun, five RBIs and two runs. Chris Nowak homered and scored three times and both Fernando Perez and Jason Pridie homered and drove in two runs.
Christopher Mason had a solid start to go with all the run support and he improved to 2-0 on the year. He gave up one unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts in six innings.
The Biscuits took a 2-0 lead into the eighth and gave up three runs in the final two frames to lose it 3-2. A good start by Mike Prochaska went to waste. He gave up just one hit and two walks with three strikeouts in five shutout innings. Richard De Los Santos gave up the run that lost it in the ninth.
Reid Brignac drove in both Biscuit runs. Fernando Perez finished the game with two hits and he scored both runs.
The Biscuits didn’t get much offense in the first ten innings of this game but they made up for it in the eleventh when they scored seven runs. Fernando Perez went one for four with two walks and three runs while Reid Brignac and Shaun Cumberland each had two hits, two RBIs and a run.
James Houser had a decent start that didn’t end up going to waste. He gave up two runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Brett Wayne was very impressive in the final two frames to pick up the win. He struck out five and gave up two hits.
