The Catfish beat Rome 8-5 and Cesar Suarez contributed with two solo homeruns. Jairo De La Rosa also had a nice game and he went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.
Wade Townsend improved to 4-4 on the season with a mediocre start. He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
The Catfish were blown out by the RiverDogs 9-1 in a game where most of the hitters really didn’t show up. Jairo De La Rosa was the hitting star and he doubled twice and drove in the only run of the game for the Catfish.
Wade Townsend took the loss and he dropped to 3-4 on the season. He gave up six runs on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
The Catfish split a pair of games with Asheville as they made up Sunday’s rain out. The Catfish took the first one with a nice outing by Wade Townsend. He gave up just a single run on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts in five innings and the win improved his record to 2-1. Jairo de la Rossa drove in two runs in the 6-2 win.
The second game was a blowout Woods Fines had his first rough start of the season. He gave up six runs in three innings and both Catfish relievers were also hit hard in the 13-5 loss. Quinn Stewart hit a two run homer and Cesar Suarez had three hits and two RBIs in the loss.
Lewis Rollins had a very nice start. He gave up two runs on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings. Unfortunately he didn’t get a decision because Neal Frontz gave up three runs in the eighth to loss it. He dropped to 0-2 and it was his second blown save of the season.
Jairo de la Rossa was the hitting star. He went two for three with a triple and two RBIs.
The Catfish couldn’t get the bats going in their 4-1 loss to Kannapolis. Jairo De La Rossa singled home Joey Callender for the only run of the game.
A solid start by Ryan Morse went to waste. He gave up a single run on just three hits with two strikeouts in a six inning no decision.
