Vero Beach lost to Lakeland 7-6 but it wasn’t because of the efforts of James Hall. The leftfielder went three for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and three runs. Neil Walton went two for four with a double and an RBI.
Kevin Lynn took the loss when he gave up an unearned run in the ninth inning. The loss dropped his record to 1-5 on the season.
Vero Beach had plenty of hitting stars in their 8-4 win over Sarasota. James Hall went three for five with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run. Alex Jamieson went two for five with two RBIs and two runs.
Michael Wlodarczyk picked up the win with a nice start. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings and the win pushes his record to 3-1 on the season.
While Matthew Walker’s start wasn’t phenomonal, he did leave the game with the lead only to see the bullpen give up three runs after he left the game. Chris Kelly took the loss when he gave up the losing run in the ninth inning.
Sergio Pedroza and James Hall had pretty much identical games. Each had two hits, a homerun, and two RBIs in the loss.
Vero Beach got plenty of hits against Tampa but still lost 5-2. James Hall was the hitting star and he went three for four with an RBI.
Jacob McGee had a pretty nice start go to waste. He gave up two runs on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts. Kevin Lynn gave up three runs in two innings and he took the loss.
Rhyne Hughes had a huge game in Vero Beach’s 12-7 win over Daytona. He homered twice and drove in five runs and he wasn’t the only Ray to go yard twice. Erold Andrus also hit two homeruns while James Hall hit one over the fence once.
Jonathan Beltre picked up the win and he gave up two runs in two innings of relief. Paul Moviel was hit hard and he gave up five runs in his five innings of work.
Matthew Walker was hit hard and he took his second loss of the season in a 9-5 loss to Palm Beach. He gave up eight runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Chrisian Lopez was the only Ray with two hits and one of them was a solo homerun. James Hall singled and drove in two runs.
Vero Beach had a good old fashioned comeback as Paul Moviel gave up four runs to put Vero Beach down 4-0. Then late in the game, the hitters started chipping into the lead until a run in the eighth tied it and a run in the ninth won it.
Patrick Cottrell had a big day at the plate. He went three for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and a run. James Hall went four for five with a double, a run and an RBI in the 5-4 win.
Left hander Michael Wlodarczyk threw five solid innings and he picked up the win in Vero Beach’s 4-2 win over Palm Beach. He gave up just two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
James Hall homered and drove in two runs while Rhyne Hughes went three for three with two RBIs. Patrick Cottrell had two hits and two runs.
Erold Andrus had a really nice day at the plate in Vero Beach’s 4-3 win over Daytona. He went three for four with a double, a homerun, a stolen base and two RBIs. James Hall had two hits and two runs.
Wade Davis gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings in no decision. Jeffrey Kamrath struck out two and he picked up thw win.
