Catfish Sweep West Virginia For SALY Championship

The Catfish needed just three games to dispatch West Virginia and once again it was the pitching that got it done.  Jeremy Hellickson threw three shutout frames in his start and then Wilton Noel picked up the win with three shutout frames of his own.  In total, five pitchers held the heavy hitting Power to four hits in the combined shutout.

Ryan Royster was the hitting star with a double and a three run homer.  John Matulia singled, doubled and scored twice while both Cesar Suarez and Matthew Fields both went yard in the 6-0 win.

Catfish Sweeps Augusta, Moves On To SALY Final

The Catfish manhandled Augusta again and they earned a berth in the SALY Final with a 7-1 win.  Maiko Loyola went three for five with a homerun and two RBIs while Quinn Stewart doubled, tripled, drove in two and scored a run.

Jeremy Hellickson picked up the win with a nice start.  He gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

Ryan Royster Homers Twice, Drives in Six In Catfish Win

Just about everyone was a hitting star in the Catfish’s 15-9 win over Greensboro but Ryan Royster was a notch above the rest.  He brought his season homerun total up to 23 with two long balls and he drove in six runs in the win.  Cesar Suarez went three for six with a double, three RBIs and two runs.

Jeremy Hellickson improved to 11-2 with the win.  He gave up six runs on six hits and one walk with ten strikeouts in five innings of work.

Cat Fish Drops Third Straight Game to Greenville

Jeremy Hellickson dropped to 4-2 on the season in the Cat Fish’s 5-4 loss to Greenville.  He gave up five runs on nine hits with nine strikeouts in six innings.

Cesar Suarez hit a solo homerun in the loss.  Nevin Ashley walked twice and he scored a run.

Catfish Held to One Hit, Still Beat Rome

The Catfish picked up just one hit, but it was a solo homerun by Ryan Royster that proved to be the only run of the game for either side.  It was Royster’s eighth homerun of the season.

Jeremy Hellickson improved to 3-1 with seven shutout innings.  He gave up four hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

John Matulia Drives In Three In Loss to Sand Gnats

The Catfish lost 4-3 to the Sand Gnats but not because of John Matulia.  The right fielder went four for five with a double and he drove in all three Catfish runs.

Jeremy Hellickson dropped to 2-1 on the season with the loss.  He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk with one strikeout in four innings.

Jeremy Helickson Throws Five Solid Innings In Catfish Win

Jeremy Helickson improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice start against Charleston.  He got into trouble in the first and gave up two runs but he calmed down and shut the opposition out through five innings.  He gave up five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Quinn Stewart hit a two run homer in the 6-3 win.  Nevin Ashley went two for three with two RBIs and a run.

Catfish Comes From Behind, Only to Lose In Ninth to Rome

This game was scoreless through five innings before both teams started scoring runs.  Rome got the final say though and their two runs in the ninth meant a 4-3 loss to the Catfish.  A great start by Jeremy Hellickson went to waste. He gave up just one hit and two walks with ten strikeouts in five innings of work.

Ryan Royster hit a solo homerun in the loss.  He was also the only hitter to reach base twice.

Jeremy Hellickson Pitches Catfish to Win Over Rome

Jeremy Hellickson picked up his first win of the season in a nice start in for the Catfish.  He gave up just one unearned run on one hit and two walks with six strikeouts in six innings.

John Matulia was the hitting star in the 6-2 win.  He was a perfect three for three with two walks and two runs.
