Joshua Butler improved to 5-1 on the season with a nice start in the Cat Fish’s 4-2 win over the RiverDogs. He gave up two runs on nine hits with five strikeouts in eight innings.
Desmond Jennings had the big hit of the game. He hit a three run homer in the sixth inning that turned out to be the winning runs.
Josh Butler improved to 4-1 on the season with a nice start in the Catfish’s 2-0 win over Rome. He gave up just three hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Both Catfish runs came via the long ball. John Matulia and Nevin Ashely each hit solo shots in the win.
Joshua Butler didn’t pick up the win, but he gave the Catfish seven quality innings in his start over the Sand Gnats. He gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Matt Falk picked up the win with three shutout innings of relief in the 3-2, fourteen inning win.
Cesar Suarez hit a walk off game winning homer in the bottom of the fourteenth inning. John Matulia went four for six with a run.
The Catfish’s offense couldn’t get it done in two losses to the Sand Gnats. In the first game, a decent start by Wade Townsend went to waste. He gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. Nevin Ashley drove in the only run of the game with a sac. fly.
In the second game, the Catfish didn’t even get the pitching. Joshua Butler gave up four runs in five innings and Ryan Royster drove in the only run of the game with a double.
The Cat Fish never got their bats going as they were held to just four hits in a 1-0 shutout to Augusta. The game winning run didn’t come until the ninth inning and a very good start by Joshua Butler went to waste. He gave up three hits with four strikeouts in six shutout innings. Even Neal Frontz, who took the loss and dropped to 0-3, threw three solid innings he just gave up the one unearned run that ended up being the difference in the game.
The Catfish blew out Asheville 8-3 today and Nevin Ashley was one of the hitting stars. He went four for five with a double, two RBIs and a run. Brett Grandstand went two for four with a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Joey Callender had a great game for the Catfish in their series finale against Kannapolis. He went three for four with three RBIs. Ryan Royster and Matthew Spring each had two hits and two runs in the 5-4 win.
Joshua Butler had a decent start and he lasted five innings. He gave up three runs on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Ryan Owen closed out the game with two shutout innings and he picked up the win.
