Catfish Blows Out Augusta For Game One Win

The Catfish won their first playoff game as they ran up the score on Augusta 11-2.  Nevin Ashley went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs.  Quinn Stewart went two for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  Maiko Loyola had a team high three hits and he scored twice.

Heath Rollins had a solid start and he picked up the win.  He gave up one run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in seven innings.

Catfish Held to Three Hits In Loss to RiverDogs

The Catfish weren’t able to get much from their hitters in a 3-1 loss to the RiverDogs.  Three hits won’t cut it in most games and it didn’t in this one.  All three hits were singles and Nevin Ashley drove in the only run of the game for the Cat Fish.

Ryan Reid took the loss in his two innings of relief.  He gave up two runs on three hits with four strikeouts and the loss dropped him to 4-4 on the season.

Joshua Butler Throws Seven Shutout Innings In Catfish Win

Josh Butler improved to 4-1 on the season with a nice start in the Catfish’s 2-0 win over Rome.  He gave up just three hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings.

Both Catfish runs came via the long ball.  John Matulia and Nevin Ashely each hit solo shots in the win.

Ryan Morse Strikes Out Nine In Catfish’s Loss

Ryan Morse had a mixed start.  On the one hand, he gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks and he took the loss.  On the other hand, he struck out a season high nine batters.

Nevin Ashley was the only Catfish hitter with two hits.  He went two for four in the 6-2 loss.

Catfish Held to Five Hits In Loss to RiverDogs

The Catfish had a hard time at the plate and they lost 3-2 to the RiverDogs. Nevin Ashley hit a solo homerun and Joey Callender went two for three with a double.

Wade Townsend took the loss and he dropped to 3-3 on the season.  He gave up two runs on four hits and five walks with four strikeouts in five innings.

Jeremy Helickson Throws Five Solid Innings In Catfish Win

Jeremy Helickson improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice start against Charleston.  He got into trouble in the first and gave up two runs but he calmed down and shut the opposition out through five innings.  He gave up five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Quinn Stewart hit a two run homer in the 6-3 win.  Nevin Ashley went two for three with two RBIs and a run.

Catfish Drops Two In Doubleheader Sweep

The Catfish’s offense couldn’t get it done in two losses to the Sand Gnats.  In the first game, a decent start by Wade Townsend went to waste.  He gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.  Nevin Ashley drove in the only run of the game with a sac. fly.

In the second game, the Catfish didn’t even get the pitching.  Joshua Butler gave up four runs in five innings and Ryan Royster drove in the only run of the game with a double.

Catfish Win Fifth Straight Game Behind Solid Pitching By Lewis Rollins

Lewis Rollins threw five shutout innings as the Catfish topped Charleston 5-2.  He gave up no hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in five innings and the win improves his record to a solid 2-0.

Nevin Ashley was the hitting star.  He went two for four with two RBIs and a run.

Ryan Morse Pitches Catfish to Win

Ryan Morse had a nice start in today’s start.  He gave up just one run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work. He improved to 2-0 on the season with the win.

Nevin Ashley doubled and drove in two runs in the 5-1 win.  Maiko Loyola went one for two with a double, a walk and two runs.

Nevin Ashley Has Four Hits and Two RBIs in Catfish Win

The Catfish blew out Asheville 8-3 today and Nevin Ashley was one of the hitting stars.  He went four for five with a double, two RBIs and a run.  Brett Grandstand went two for four with a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Joshua Butler picked up the win with a decent start.  He gave up one unearned run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work.

Woods Fines Throws Five Shutout Innings in Catfish Win

Woods Fines picked up his first win of the season with five shutout innings. He gave up five hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

Nevin Ashley led the Catfish at the plate in the 5-2 win.  He went three for five with a triple and two RBIs.

Cat Fish Shut Out by Greenville

Columbus racked up eight hits and a walk but they couldn’t get a single runner across the plate.  Nevin Ashley and Ryan Royster each had two singles in the 3-0 loss.

Wade Townsend was roughed up in his start and he took the loss.  He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in three innings.  The Cat Fish did get some decent relief pitching though.  Chris Kelly threw three shutout innings and Neal Frontz struck out two in a pair of shutout frames.
