Vero Beach went down 9-2 early but they scored six late runs ot make a game out of it. Unforutunately, they fell just short and lost it 9-8. Christopher Cunningham had a huge game in the loss. He went three for four with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs.
Paul Moviel was hit hard and he took the loss. He gave up nine runs on twelve hits and one walk with one strikeout in 4 1/3 innings.
Paul Moviel was hit hard and he dropped to 2-4 in Vero Beach’s 9-1 loss to Palm Beach. He gave up four runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Sergio Pedroza was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four with a triple and he drove in the only run of the game for Vero Beach.
Rhyne Hughes had a huge game in Vero Beach’s 12-7 win over Daytona. He homered twice and drove in five runs and he wasn’t the only Ray to go yard twice. Erold Andrus also hit two homeruns while James Hall hit one over the fence once.
Jonathan Beltre picked up the win and he gave up two runs in two innings of relief. Paul Moviel was hit hard and he gave up five runs in his five innings of work.
Vero Beach ran up the scored on Palm Beach in their 11-3 win. Patrick Cottrell had a big game at the plate. He went three for three with two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and a run. Hunter Vick went three for five with two runs and two RBIs.
Paul Moviel coasted to an easy win and he improved to 1-2. He gave up one run on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Vero Beach had a good old fashioned comeback as Paul Moviel gave up four runs to put Vero Beach down 4-0. Then late in the game, the hitters started chipping into the lead until a run in the eighth tied it and a run in the ninth won it.
Patrick Cottrell had a big day at the plate. He went three for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and a run. James Hall went four for five with a double, a run and an RBI in the 5-4 win.
Paul Moviel dropped to 0-2 and his struggles continued in a tough start against Sarasota. He gave up four runs on five hits and he struck out six in five innings of work.
Neil Walton had the only extra base hit of the game for Vero Beach. He went one for three with a triple and an RBI.
Vero Beach got no offense in a first game loss against Daytona then scored way more then they needed in a second game win. Paul Moviel took the loss in game one and he gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Jackson Brennan doubled twice and drove in the only run in the 5-1 loss.
Jacob McGee threw six shutout innings in the second game and the Rays picked up an 8-1 win. He gave up one run on four hits with six strikeouts. Brennan again got it done with a big game at the plate. He hit a grand slam and finished with five RBIs to cap off a very nice day for the center fielder.
